Last Thursday William, Ryan and Vanessa did their presentation on Speaker and Listener in the Section about Poetry. I really enjoyed their presentation. I thought it was well organized. Also, I really enjoyed the analysis about the Tupac shakur song. When I first read the tupac song I automatically thought that Tupac was the speaker and the listener was anybody who read the song. However, Professor Sabir made a good statement about the speaker and it doesn't necessarily be the author. It can be intended for a different character other than the actual writer. I thought that was quite interesting. However, everytime I read the song I'm still hearing Tupac. :)

On Thursday, we listened to a presentation about speaker and listener. I found this presentation quite interesting because I found out that poetry can be quite complicated when it comes to identifying who is the speaker and who the intended listener is. I learned that to truly grasp the meaning and message of a poem, it must be read several times with such diligence and concentration to understand who the targeted audience is and who is the speaker. Overall, great presentation and great job!

William, Ryan and Vanessa did their presentation on Speaker/Listener.. I found their presentation very interesting, well put-together and bright. My absolute fav part was the poem about a trip to the museum how it was kind of a play on words. I liked the discusion we all had about that poem.
