Giles Johnson, Ph.D.
In “Giles Johnson, Ph.D,” Frank Marshal Davis, tries to send the message that it doesn’t matter if you have a PhD, or how many master’s you have in your life, or even how many languages do you speak, all that matters is how we are humble with the knowledge that we have and how we pass it a long.
Although “Giles Johnson, PhD” looks at the importance of being active in a community, we can say that Frank Marshall Davis tries to go deeper in the emotion levels of his character, because he ends his poem by saying that Giles Johnson died of starvation and leaves you with a reaction of empathy towards the character after reading it.
I liked this poem because it goes deep in the psychological field, of how a man that has a lot of knowledge end up dying alone of starvation because he probably he didn’t have any good quality interactions with other people.

Shamanic Astral Travel of Politics
The poem I chose is “Centennial Year for the Spirits” by Sister Goodwin (Elizabeth Hope). This inter-dimensional poem travels through time to particular political events or political-themed situations to unlock the meaning they have. The reason they do this is because this can be the only way to look at history. We cannot rely on history books because, as we all know, history is always rewritten. This is suggested by the claim that “in the stillness there was no need to search for the unknown.”

The poem hits the heart to all those who have ever let greed rule them and who have ever trusted there heart to a loved one and have been let down and crushed in the heart. Life is a process and we must identify our enemies so that we can free our mind and know what is in front of us is evil and it will not destroy us if we do not let it. To build up all in our black nation and don’t lie nor cheat one another but lift one another with love, honesty and kindness.
In the poem Speak the Truth to the People by Ishmael Reed in the book From Totems to Hip Hop, he talks about being enslaved by the enemy and the love and trust we give to the enemy. Speak to the Black nation with reason, honesty, love and courage, to lead our people with strength to help us free our mind and be ready for other things in life.

In the poem Speak the Truth to the People by Ishmael Reed in the book from Totems to Hip Hop, the narrator has also talked about how the world is so easily to trust there family, to allow them into our personal heart and all they want and hunger for is money and all we want is people to speak the truth and be honest. All we want from our law system is the chance to have a government that does what they say and we wouldn’t have to reveal there structure and expose there lies and ravage the very foundation they stand on. Speak the truth to your people and lead them down the righteous path and not the one that will destroy them. The killers
This is a poem written by poet Cordelia Candelaria. In this poem,poet has tried to describe life of killer.She thinks killer has different way of living and thinking.They don't care about other people. They are scary and not civilized. Therefore,killers are uncivilized group of people because they kill other human to fulfill their desire which ultimately results fear in the society.
People are scared with killer.they kill other people for no reasons. like and animal in the forest that kills other animals to fulfill its hunger, killer also do the same. instead of working hard and earning money, they choose this professor. thought killer are nothing than a cruel animal,we have to read their stories and have to think about them beside we don't care about them.their scary deeds are always published in a newspaper.They are treated like a famous person in the society which is embarrassing.
Therefore, in the poem,Killer, poet has tried to describe how average people have to read and think about killers as they have always been focused in the society,although they do nothing good for their society.

Aunt Helen
In the poem ' Aunt Helen The narrator talks about his maiden aunt. He speaks about how respected she was in the community and evn how much their own family liked her. Then the narrator goes on to talk about what a tragedy it was for the family and the community when Aunt Helen passed away. The narrotor goes into detail on how the family reacts when the death occured.
